Feather Fixing

A male and female Mallard ducks that hang out on the lake across from my house. I love getting action shots like this. Both of these ducks are very friendly and if they see me will come right over, looking for a hand out. They also are comfortable enough to relax and preen themselves with me standing only a few feet away.
BTW one kind of cool thing about this shot. It was raining a bit, though the ducks were hanging out under a tree so that is why the water doesn't have any raining effects on it...except if you look just above the male Mallard...you can see a disturbance in the water. That was from a large drop that fell off of the tree and hit the water just as I took this shot and I was lucky enough to capture that in the photo too.
